Join a hands-on sashiko workshop led by Sanae Suzuki. Explore the beauty and tradition of Japanese Sashiko embroidery while learning how to stitch Sashiko. All skill levels are welcome!

Under Sanae's guidance, you'll dive into the brief history of sashiko, master the "Unshin" stitching technique, and learn to create the hitomezashi (rice stitch) pattern and see its variation patterns. Experience how sashiko can calm your mind and spark your creativity, one stitch at a time.

Sanae Suzuki
Artist, Author, Cancer & near-death survivor, Whole Health Macrobiotic Holistic Nutrition Counselor, Practitioner, and Educator. Bach Flower Registered Practitioner (Flower Therapist), Herbalist, Certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist, and Reiki Practitioner for People and Animal Families. Animal Communicator and Certified Yoga Teacher.
Born and raised in Nagoya, Japan. Sanae foraged mushrooms and medicinal plants in the mountain of Mie with her grandmother when she was just three years old. Sanae loves growing organic vegetables, medicinal herbs, and native plants in her garden in Santa Monica and foraging for the plants in the wild. She enjoys the art of calligraphy, drawing, watercolor, photography, sculpture, knitting, sashiko (hand-sewing textile), natural botanical dye, wood-block print with botanical ink and paint, writing, and more healing modalities. Sanae has been dedicating her life to healing herself and helping others.
